Public Education: The Association attempts to show people how to practice safe behavior and activities around dogs. People, especially children, learn best by watching and imitating. By showing them how to be responsible dog owners and getting them excited about the sport of purebred dogs, a foundation is laid for the continuation of the sport and the future welfare of dogs.

Community Impact: Mutual benefits are derived from a positiverelationship between a dog club and the local community. Dog events also have a significant and positive economic impact on the community.
The community and local media need to know that members of the Association are breed specialists and available to offer assistance on any dog subject.
By encouraging participation in organized dog training programs, dog owners are educated about the benefits of training and conditioning a dog to act with good manners in home, in public places, and in the presence of other dogs.
Association members demonstrate responsible dogs ownership by...
* licensing and vaccinating dogs
* confining dogs to a fenced yard
* adhering to local leash laws
* subjecting "pet quality" dogs to spay/neuter contracts.
...ensuring dogs remain respected members of their community rather than a nuisance.
The Association seeks ways to incorporate into the community, canine health research and educational programs with an emphasis on improving the quality of life for dogs and their owners.
