Founded in October of 1998 as a non-profit organization, NGHA represents dog owners, exhibitors, trainers, breeders, veterinarians, and judges with an interest in purebred hound breeds.
Membership:
While membership is unrestricted as to residence, the Association's primary purpose is to be representative of hound breeders and exhibitors in the north Georgia area.

Our MISSION

- Encourage and promote quality in the breeding of all purebred hounds and to do all possible to bring their natural qualities to perfections
- Urge members and breeders to accept the standard of each hound breed as approved by The American Kennel Club as the only standard of excellence by which purebred hounds shall be judged. - Do all in its power to protect and advance the interests of purebred hounds by encouraging sportsmanlike competition at dog shows, obedience trials, tracking tests, and performance events. - Conduct sanctioned matches, dog shows, obedience trials, tracking tests, and performance events under the rules and regulations of The American Kennel Club. Educate breeders, judges, veterinarians, and the general public on the purebred hound breeds and the various performance disciplines in which they participate. |
